August 5th, 2010 In August, Cecilia Smith and Amina Claudine Meyers will join a big band ensemble of noted Chicago jazz artists, led by pianist Betheny Pickens, for this tribute to Mary Lou Williams' 100th anniversary sponsored by the Chicago Department of Culture Affairs and the Jazz Institute of Chicago. Ms. Smith was also hired to procure the music for this concert, which will includes rare pieces from Ms. Williams' oeuvre, and edit some of the older charts. Millennium Park Concert Series
